Today when i walked out the door to go to work,

there were two men at my house working on our carpet.

I got out to my car and realized i forgot my keys.

As i walked back into my house....

The two men were at the counter,

eating.

A cake.

That my mother had made the night before.

I directed them to the drinks

and left.

Yesterday I got to spend the whole day with a bunch of

the most amazing people.

And do some really fun things.

We went paddle boarding, played at the beach,

ate some great food, had us a paint fight, and even had some cake!

It was a really fun day, and it made 24 not look so bad!

(this is the first year that i have had a warm birthday)

My friend Erin and I were having a discussion on celebs the other day. Naming all the good looking ones, of course. And as we got into this convo... We decided, if Johnny Knoxville really knew us... he would like us. Its the getting to him part that is the struggle, because how could we contact him? We could write him a letter, but he would think we were just like the other emails/letters he receives. Anyway, we were sincerely considering all these details. We think we would laugh at his Jackass crap. Heck, we may even participate. So come on Jonny give us a chance, we know you'd like us!! (we also discussed Josh Doable. Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Gosling, etc...) If they only knew......

My aunt came to Hawaii to visit and she was staying about an hour away from where I was. My friend was nice enough to let me take her car. Trick.

The doors are so rusted, you can not open them or they will fall off, they are bolted shut. So, you climb through the window. I turned on the car, it jolted forward and began to head straight for the Taco Truck (neighbors sell tacos)in first gear, with my foot on the brake still. Inches away, I turned it off. No AC. Sweating bullets. I wait an hour for my friend to get home and she puts in some sort of fluid and pumps the clutch and its ready to go. Just like that. So I head for town.

When I arrive, i spend 30 minutes looking for Parking. Driving around the block. Nothing. My aunt calls, due to the amount of time I am taking. I tell her my problem and she says "oh, just vallet it." I continued by telling her how I didn't think it was possible with the sort of car I was in. But she didn't believe me. I roll up in this so called truck, next to all these BMWs and Mercedes. Embarr.

As the vallet boy comes to my door, I quickly climb out(the window) and inform him that was how he was to get in. He smiled at me in dis belief . That smile slowly faded as he realized how serious I was. Dead serious. I handed him my keys and practically sprinted out of there....

Dropping it off was the least of my problems. When I called down to get it, I kindly reminded them about the doors not working and he continued to ask if I was for real. And indeed I was. He chuckled and yelled to the boy "climb through the window!"

When my aunt and I arrived at the vallet station, we saw my truck. And 5 men pushing it. I ran to help them and informed them we needed to put the magic fluid in and pump the clutch. The boy inside the car pops it, but we can not get it open. Ten minutes later we finally get it. One man jumps in the car and begins pumping the clutch and the rest of us are standing around the open hood watching the fluid go in. The boy climbs back out the window and I climb in. I start her up, shove it into gear and pulled away... The whole garage was clapping, even the other customers. I get around the corner to a red light and it shuts down.

Needless to say, my aunt rented me a car and everyday I came back the vallet boys would say "Hey truck girl" or "Truck girl is back".

They place a ticket on your key ring and mine read, "Climb through back window. For real."

HAUNTED LAGOON.

Its creepy.

You begin going through a haunted house.

You then, get into this boat. Yes, a boat. Log flume style but wider.

There is a man on the back of your boat, pushing you.

I took one for the team and sat on the edge.... pfff, who we kidding, i was scared.

UNTIL this Fujian young man sat next to me.

Things would pop out of the water and climb onto the boat.

It was frightening.

At one point there were all these clowns surrounding our boat.

The Fujian man held onto me the whole time... Thats how scary it was.

Well worth the money spent.

Haunted houses got nothing on this lagoon.

Last weekend, about 20 of us went on a night hike,

to these bunkers in the hills.

To tell Ghost stories.

It was muddy, so we were slipping around like crazy. Not lying.

You needed a flashlight....

and four of us girls didn't have one.

And four of us girls were left behind.

Walking slash triping in the dark.

Lets just say it was quite the adventure.

OH! And I went Latin dancing.

It made me feel like those Junior high days,

standing on the side waiting for someone to ask you to dance.

I went boating in the ocean.

I was a tad nervous at first,(the thought of Jaws crossed my mind)

but once we got out there, I had such a good time!

We drove to this sand bar, out in the middle of the ocean,

And had a BBQ.

Played some games.

Chatted.

Soaked up the blue skies and warm sun.

There were HUGE turtles all around us.

It was Awesome!

My friend Sam wrote this a few years back. I found it. Loved it. Thought I would share it.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I am a loud gum chewer.

At times I smack my gum so loud and so hard that I can't even hear what is going on around me. As a result, I am certain that my gum loses its flavor at a far more rapid pace than the standard habitual gum consumer. No matter how obscure the following may sound, I have begun to develop a theory as to why I chew my gum at such a loud decibel and hasty speed. It's simple really. I am a maniac.

I think its safe to say that I've only got myself to blame for being a maniac, for letting myself become anxious, consumed, and in a constant state of turbulence because of my schedule.

From what I've gathered by observing my own lifestyle and the lifestyles of the maniacs that surround me, there are usually distinguishable classifications for what kind of mania you suffer predominantly from and an origin that it stems out of. I have discovered that some of the major causes can be issues such as copious amounts of stress, social angst, employer consummation or educational insufferability. Basically there is too much on your plate, you have to many irons in the fire, you are an extra-curricular slut.

While the forms may vary and the faces of a maniac difficult to discern, the diagnosis is universal: if you are a maniac, you are out of control.

By now I'm sure you're wondering: how do I know if I'm a maniac? Here are some of the symptoms:
#1 You lose your car keys before you leave your car
#2 Your purse or backpack are in such disarray that finding anything from kitchen utensils to dental hygiene appliances inside them is not unusual.
#3 it is a reunion atmosphere every time you see your own roommates, filled with long embraces and playing catch up.
#4 You use more minutes on other peoples phones trying to track down your lost phone, than you do speaking on your phone
#5 Your car is so disorganized that you could find things to wear out to dinner, supplies to make crafts for relief society, and the provisions to have a fairly successful camping trip all stuffed in your back seat.
#6 You consume more caffeine than air
#7 The only time you see your best friend is through pictures on her Myspace page

The first step to recovery is recognizing the symptoms and admitting that you have a problem, you are now on your way to achieving a maniac-free life.

Next door to the office where used to work is a psychiatrist named Dr. Houston. Dr. Houston is an intellectual. On slow afternoons Dr. Houston would come in and chat with me about boys, the weekend, where we like to eat lunch, and of course, the well-being of my psyche. One day I joked with Dr. Houston that I felt like I was going crazy. I learned then to never say that to a psychiatrist. The minute the word "crazy" left my mouth I was sure he was going to start writing me prescriptions and scheduling shrink time for me in his office, but he didn't. His voice turned from light, small talk voice to Dad-found-the-scratch-on-his-car-and-he-means-business voice. He slid his chair up to my desk and said, "Sam, I deal with a whole lot of people who think they are crazy, and the majority of them really are because of one thing: they don't take the time to enjoy they goodness of life. All life has become is stress, and obstacles, and worry, and everyday it obstructs more and more from their view of the good. If you are doing that then you will go crazy, then you ARE crazy. You have to change your perspective, you have to take time to be really happy, or you will go insane."

So maniacs, what do we do? We are who we are! We move a mile a minute, over book ourselves, and fill each hour by racing, working, applying. We can't put more hours in the day; we can't give up our responsibilities! Or can we?I have found that the days I give up a little responsibility and lay in bed with my roommate Jess, I am much more focused. I have found that when I go to dinner with my sister instead of eating granola bars in my car on the way to a meeting I am far more motivated.

We are classified as maniacs because we choose to let the unimportant, trivial, and business of our lives become the priority. We deserve to be called maniacs because we don't have time for each other when that is what we really need.This change will take some practice, possibly some denial along with a hearty recovery period, but it could also save your life, your sanity, and if nothing else, make all maniacs’ days a lot more worthwhile.

I chew my gum so loud and fast that it looses its taste far to quickly. I live my life in such a way that its flavor is nearly gone. Orange Trident is my favorite gum and I'm going to start tasting more of it. Slow down, calm down, hang out with your friends and not your laptop, schedule time with your roommate instead of your Poly-Sci book, and enjoy your gum instead of annihilating it.

I want to love my life more, don't you? Let's stop the mania...

A big black man stood up for a little old lady on the bus.

I struggled to get out the door at the store the other day, carrying a drink and pushing a

stroller, this man RAN to open it for me.

When I first came out to Hawaii, there was

so much I had to get used to, now I do

things different without even noticing.

- I no longer wash my feet before going to bed.

-Ill sit on a dirty couch.

-Sometimes i go to bed early, even though people are still partyin.

-I write in a journal.

-I no longer do my laundry ten times a week.

-I no longer do the dishes and sweep every morning.

-You are lucky if i do my hair once a week.

-I run.

-I am active in the church. Completely. And enjoy it!!! A lot.

-I use the same towel more then once.

-Ill sit in the sand without something underneath me. (either way, sand finds its way in)

-I do Yoga.

.......I have been changed for good.

This is the view from the top of the hat... the land behind us is where we came from.

Rumor has it this water is hammer-head breeding grounds. Yet, we went.

The water is so shallow, you can walk the whole way. Its that shallow. (Its gnarly, when you are in the middle of the ocean and you can still touch.)

When you reach the island, you hike. (My fav)

And by hike, I mean tiny-thin-dirt-trail-with-tons-of-weeds. Then, scaling rocks. HOT rocks.

....What goes up, must come down....

Lets just say, the Lees were mad they invited me after the first step on the trail.

Saying it was well worth it is an understatement.

It was an AMAZING view.

Cait and I were swimming in the ocean....Watching JLee surf (killin the waves.)

Having such an enjoyable time!

Then I saw it......... the horror in Caits eyes.

She starts swimming quickly and says "Shark!... uh ... Kelly swim, come on.. Turtle! Turtle!"

I am swimming and looking behind me, when I turn around to find Cait already in the shallow, running.

And then...... She trips and is on the ground, hands and knees. Waves nailing her.

After we had made sure the Shark Turtle had gone, we laughed like crazy.

And got back in. Keeping our eyes peeled for Turtle Guy.

Later, we were laying on our towels, judging people and then feeling bad. (you know you do it)

Cait stood up to shake her towel, so sand would go in my face for the tenth time that day, when she screamed again "Get up, Get up, Get up!!!!"

And I feel it CRAWL under my butt.

I jump up and immediately panic in fear its in my swim suit.

Cait spots it. A crab.

Eventful day at the beach, to say the least.

No body likes crabs.

And just when you think things could NOT get worse.

I take my mothers car for a drive down broken insides lane. My dad no longer answers calls from me, he doesnt want to hear the bad news.

Man voice for a week (phoebe would envy me).

Februarys got nothing on January.

Going out with a Bang......

Going 55 on the freeway. I hit ice and spun out of control. flying across 3 lanes. spinnin the wheel. And then flying across five again. Spun towards on coming traffic. Hit the side wall and then spun again. This, is how I spent the first few hours of New Years eve.

(And I thought breaking my new phone was bad Karma.)

After all that, I welcomed the new year with friends, dancing, and fun! But as I thought of the year 2010 come and gone... (SO fast, i might add).. I thought of how blessed I am... To be healthy. To have the freedom to make my own decisions. To learn from my weaknesses. To be with my family forever. To feel my saviors love. To know the truthfulness of the gospel. TO BE ALIVE. I take it for granted sometimes. This year, is going to be great! Make it happen. Live YOUR life.

I think everyone has a movie that they love so much; it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.

As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what do to with it.

Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!
